Discover authentic Korean serums in Ireland, from soothing Centella and deep hydration to brightening, PDRN and barrier-supporting formulas.

How to Choose a Korean Serum

Korean serums are designed to deliver concentrated ingredients for specific skin concerns, so the best place to start is by asking what your skin needs most.

If your skin feels tight or dehydrated, look for hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and panthenol. Sensitive or stressed-feeling skin may prefer soothing formulas with Centella Asiatica or beta-glucan, while uneven tone and dullness can benefit from ingredients such as niacinamide, vitamin C or tranexamic acid.

  • Dry & Dehydrated Skin

For skin that feels tight, thirsty, dull or lacking bounce.

    Best textures:
Watery serums • Gel serums • Milky essences

    Look for:
    PDRN • Hyaluronic Acid • Glycerin • Panthenol • Beta-Glucan

    Why:
Dehydrated skin needs water-binding ingredients that help attract and retain hydration. Lightweight hydrating serums can also be layered underneath a richer moisturiser if your skin is both dry and dehydrated.

    Krush tip:
Apply your hydrating serum to slightly damp skin, then follow with moisturiser to help lock everything in.

  • Fine Lines, Firmness & Elasticity

For skin focused on smoother, plumper and firmer-looking results.

    Best textures:
Milky serums • Rich essences • Concentrated ampoules

    Look for:
    PDRN • Peptides • Retinal/Retinol • Ginseng • NAD

    Why:
Firming and age-supporting serums often focus on hydration, elasticity and the appearance of fine lines. These routines usually work best when combined with a good moisturiser and consistent SPF.

    Krush tip:
If you use retinoids, introduce them gradually and keep the rest of your routine supportive rather than overly active-heavy.

  • Sensitive & Stressed Skin

For skin that easily feels uncomfortable, reactive or overwhelmed.

    Best textures:
Lightweight watery serums • Simple ampoules • Fragrance-light formulas

    Look for:
    Heartleaf • Centella Asiatica • Panthenol • Beta-Glucan • Ceramides

    Why:
Sensitive-feeling skin often benefits from a simpler routine focused on hydration, soothing care and barrier support rather than layering multiple strong actives.

    Krush tip:
If your skin is already feeling stressed, introduce one new serum at a time rather than changing several products together.

 Korean Sreum FAQ💜

Serum, essence or ampoule, which one should I choose?

Don’t worry too much about the name on the bottle. In Korean skincare, serums, essences and ampoules can overlap considerably.

Instead, choose based on your skin concern and the formula itself. If you want lightweight hydration, an essence or watery serum may be ideal. If you’re targeting a specific concern such as uneven tone, elasticity or blemishes, a more concentrated serum or ampoule may suit you better.

Can I use more than one serum in the same routine?

Yes, but you usually don’t need several serums to build an effective routine.

If you choose to layer, start with the lightest texture and follow with thicker formulas. Try to avoid combining too many strong active ingredients at once, especially if you’re new to ingredients such as retinoids, exfoliating acids or high-strength brightening treatments.

A simple approach is often best: choose one serum for your main concern and build from there.

Can I use serums with retinol, acids or other active ingredients?

It depends on the ingredients in the serum. Hydrating and soothing serums containing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, Centella, panthenol or ceramides can usually fit comfortably alongside active-focused routines.

More intensive treatments containing retinoids, exfoliating acids or high concentrations of certain brightening ingredients may require more careful layering.

When introducing stronger actives, start gradually, avoid changing several products at the same time and keep your moisturiser and daily SPF consistent.
