Discover authentic Korean cleansers in Ireland, from gentle everyday face washes to makeup-melting cleansing oils and balms. Carefully chosen for every skin type.

How to Choose a Korean Cleanser

The right cleanser should remove what your skin doesn’t need without leaving it feeling stripped, tight or uncomfortable.

If you wear makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, start with an oil cleanser or cleansing balm to dissolve makeup, SPF and excess sebum, then follow with a gentle water-based cleanser.

Your skin should feel clean and comfortable after cleansing not squeaky or tight.

Korean Cleanser FAQ💜

Cleansing Oil, Balm, Gel or Foam, What’s the Difference?

Cleansing oils are oil-based first cleansers designed to dissolve makeup, sunscreen and excess sebum. They emulsify with water and rinse away.

Cleansing balms do the same job but begin as a solid or balm texture that melts into an oil as you massage it into the skin.

Gel cleansers are water-based and often offer a lighter, gentler cleansing experience, making them popular for normal, combination, dehydrated or sensitive-feeling skin.

Foam cleansers create more lather and can feel especially refreshing for oily or combination skin, but the formula matters more than the bubbles, a good foam cleanser shouldn’t leave your skin feeling stripped.

Do I Need to Double Cleanse?

Double cleansing means cleansing your skin in two steps: an oil-based cleanser first, followed by a water-based cleanser.

The first cleanse helps remove makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum and oil-soluble buildup. The second cleanse removes remaining residue and cleanses the skin itself.

Double cleansing can be particularly useful in the evening if you wear makeup, reapply sunscreen or use water-resistant SPF.

However, it isn’t a rule that everyone must follow every night. If you haven’t worn makeup or heavy sunscreen and your skin feels comfortable with one gentle cleanse, a single cleanse may be enough

Can oily skin use cleansing oils or balms?

Yes. Cleansing oils and balms can work very well for oily and combination skin.

Oil-based cleansers are designed to dissolve oil-soluble buildup such as makeup, sunscreen and excess sebum, and a well-formulated cleansing oil should emulsify and rinse away with water.

If you double cleanse, simply follow with a gentle water-based cleanser.
